It produces an edible rhizome (often referred to as its root) that grows just below the surface of the soil. The rhizome looks similar to Zingiber Officinale (edible Ginger) - but is orange inside. Turmeric is straightforward to grow and to harvest and it’s a perennial, so with a little care and patience you can grow your own Turmeric every year.
